Westside Pets provides trusted, professional in-home care tailored exclusively for cats throughout San Luis Obispo and the surrounding areas. The focus is always on helping cats remain comfortable, calm, and well supported in their own environment while giving you peace of mind when you're away.
I’m Lisa Smith, founder of Westside Pets. For over 15 years, I’ve supported local families by caring for cats through every stage of life, from kittenhood through the senior years. My work is shaped by a lifetime of hands-on experience and several years as a veterinary technician. It also includes extensive training with veterinary nutritionists, with a focus on species-appropriate, whole-food nutrition, along with continued study in feline wellness and holistic care. I've also had the privilege of volunteering with respected community-based organizations, including Woods Humane Society and The Cal Poly Cat Program.
In addition to in-home cat care, I offer behavior consulting to support cats experiencing stress-related changes, routine disruptions, and household transitions so they can feel more secure and stable in their environment.

As a Fear Free® Certified Professional (FFCP) and member of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC),
I practice behavior-informed care through a calm, supportive approach while continuing to advance my formal training in feline behavior consulting.

PERSONALIZED CAT SITTING
When you’re away, your biggest concern is knowing your cat is safe, comfortable, and cared for in the place they feel most secure—at home.
In -home Cat Sitting is designed to preserve your cat’s routine, environment, and sense of calm, so there’s no disruption or unnecessary stress while you’re gone.

Each visit is thoughtfully tailored to your cat’s personality, habits, and needs, ensuring they receive attentive, consistent care that feels familiar and reassuring.

Every visit is handled with professionalism, attentiveness, and genuine care, so your cat feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for at home—while you enjoy true peace of mind.
Cat sitting visits start at $30 per visit, with rates based on location, visit length, and any medication /special care .
BEHAVIOR CONSULTING
When your cat is hiding, peeing outside the litter box, acting stressed when you travel, or showing changes in appetite or energy, it’s difficult to know what can actually help.

Behavior consulting is designed to clarify the root cause of these changes so you can make practical adjustments that help your cat feel calmer and more secure.

Together, we look at routine, environment, nutrition, stress patterns, and daily interactions to create a realistic plan that promotes comfort, stability, and long-term well-being.
