I'm Lisa Smith, founder of Westside Pets and a Fear Free® Certified Professional. For more than 15 years, I've been caring for cats and supporting the people who love them through every stage of life, from curious kittens to senior companions. I believe every cat is unique, and when we take the time to truly understand them, we can help them live happier, healthier lives.

My work is built on a lifetime of hands-on experience, several years as a veterinary technician, and a commitment to lifelong learning. I've completed extensive training with veterinary nutritionists in species-appropriate nutrition, and I continue to expand my knowledge in feline behavior and wellness because I believe the better we understand cats, the better we can care for them.

One of the most rewarding parts of my work has been helping cats and the people who love them navigate behavior challenges while strengthening the bond they share. Taking the time to understand each cat's individual needs is at the heart of everything I do.

While my professional work has been the foundation of my experience, I've also had the privilege of volunteering with Woods Humane Society, the Cal Poly Cat Program, and several other community organizations over the years. With every new cat connection, I'm reminded that behavior is communication and every cat has a story to tell.

As a member of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC), I'm committed to ongoing professional education in feline behavior, nutrition, wellness, and compassionate care while actively pursuing my advanced credential in Feline Behavior Consulting, all as part of my commitment to providing the highest standard of support for every cat and family I work with.
